How to Get to the Beach

Step off the Ships Prow deck to the patio where you’ll find stone steps (at the red arrow) leading down to the path that take you to the beach. But it’s faster to walk through
the building to the courtyard and down the stairs (blue arrow below). The stone breakwater was, amazingly, built with an easy-to-walk path through its middle to the beach.

Above the tides it offers easy access to the beach. The blue arrow above is from the complex’ inner courtyard, which
Has bluestone walkways leading to seating areas. Near the sea are stone stairs (shown at right) that take you down to the lawn and on to the wooden stairs down to a wide stone path built into the breakwater which you follow all the way to the beach. You stay dry above the tides.

Once you get to the staircase, just head down to the breakwater path which leads you directly to the beach. Cool!

The Beach
Plant a beach chair (provided) or take a long quiet morning walk all alone except for the surf sounds to the public South Cape Beach State Park. It’s about 2.5 miles to South Cape Beach with life guards, bathrooms and picnic areas. At South Cape have refreshment, use the bathroom then return making
it part of your morning or afternoon routine, or both.
